TERI WILSON

Romancing the pet lover's soul

Reviews for Cup of Joe:

"...When I first started to read this book I fell in love with Goldie from the onset. I couldn’t help but keep waiting for Joe to finally to take her on a date. What’s God’s plan in all of this. As feelings are developing between the two, Eve her friend is forever trying to throw a wrench in the middle of Goldie’s life, while others seem to push Joe and Goldie together. From the hilarious adventures of taking Bliss to Church with her, to the dog training classes and dog shows , to her job at the library, to crinkly potato chip bags, you are in for a wonderful reading adventure . With Bliss forever at her side you will find yourself so involved in Teri Wilson’s newest book you won’t want to put it down. Even if you are not a dog person you will find this book quite entertaining. Very cleanly written I would recommend this book for any age."

Simply put, "Cup of Joe" is about grief, love, God and the power of pets. Local author Teri Wilson serves up a satisfying tale, and you just might find yourself smiling as you read.

Goldie is devastated by the death of her grandfather, who's raised her since childhood. She plants herself on the couch, clad in fuzzy slippers and SpongeBob pants, and buries her feelings as best she can. Then Joe, a persistent coffee shop owner, shows up with a dog named Bliss and her life takes another turn.

Goldie and Joe's relationship is refreshingly old-fashioned, and readers of this blog will especially like the attention Wilson pays to all of the little things we love about dogs and the special bonds we make with them. Bliss, the Cavalier King Charles spaniel, is perfectly animated, which is no surprise since the pup in the book is based on Wilson's very own Bliss. There is even a well-mannered husky for all the lovers of big dogs...

The story is sweet and light, exactly how Goldie likes her coffee.

"What a great feel good love story! Ms Wilson does such a great job creating her stories, her characters always have wonderful depth, the animals are super nifty and the Lord is always there :) lending a helping hand, guiding those who seek him and showing those who ask the wonder of His way.

This heartwarming inspirational is filled with laughs, love and friendships that really open your eyes and take you to new heights. The death of a loved one is a challenge and can be devastating, this tender tale takes us for a ride along one couples discovery that sometimes death opens more doors than it closes.

It is easy to see why this story won a prize in the SARA Merritt contest this year! *SNAPS* Ms Wilson on such an endearing, truly inspiring love story :)"

"Like Cavaliers? Like coffee? Then this light romance is for you! Teri Wilson combines dogs, coffee & romance in a book that would be the perfect stocking stuffer or dog club Xmas gift exchange item.

Teri is an award winning dog writer who lives with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel of her own and an English Cocker. Along with the coffee connections, this book brings in Teri’s own experiences with rally and touches on shelter dogs too.

Teri’s heroine, Goldie, has just lost her grandfather who she has lived with since childhood. She wants to simply cocoon in her grief and fuzzy slippers but a local coffee shop owner who was her grandfather’s friend reaches out to her – with coffee and a dog! Goldie, like me is a dedicated tea drinker, but Joe works to turn her on to coffee with the help of a funky shop assistant. Rally class and a rally competition make this even better for dog lovers.

If you are looking for a fun book to curl up on the sofa with on a cold winter day, with a dog on your lap or leaning on you and the hot beverage of your choice, this book is ideal!

Reviews  for Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw:

Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw named Reviewer Top Pick at Night Owl Romance Reviews:

Ms. Wilson outdid herself yet again. I fell in love with not only the human characters, but also all the animal ones as well. I love how the author weaves messages of faith, hope and love in her unique and entertaining storylines. She pulled me in from the very first page and I just couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen to Christabel and the human and animal friends she grew to love along the way. Ms. Wilson is such a talented author and she finds a way to melt your heart in every story she writes. This is the second story in the Hoofbeats & Heartstring series and I eagerly look forward to reading many more stories from Ms. Wilson. This was a wonderful story to lose yourself in and I would highly recommend it to others readers. You won’t be disappointed with this series!   Reviewed by Diana Coyle, NOR

Long and Short Romance Reviews give Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw a 5-book rating...

Love, Lilies, and the Unbroken Straw is a sweet, sensitive story which shows the full range of Christabel’s feelings for her amazing gift, the horses and most of all Declan. Christabel is a warm, vibrant woman who at first appears to be shy and retiring, but Declan brings out the best in her. As their relationship develops she shows the strength she usually hides from the world. The Yellow Rose of Texas Equine Rescue Center provides a warm, comfortable backdrop to the triangle of love developing between Christabel, Declan and the horses in need of their help.

Although the setting is Texas with its hot summers, I would recommend this book be read beside a warm fire with a cup of hot chocolate on the table within easy reach. It’s the type of story which leaves a satisfied, warm feeling inside so it’s essential to find a comfortable place to settle before starting to read Love, Lilies, and the Unbroken Straw Reviewed by Orchid, LASR

From Between the Lines Reviews:

A wonderful romance with a dash with of magic, LOVE, LILIES AND THE UNBROKEN STRAW is a great read. When Christabel Wilde discovers a magical gift rescuing a Chihuahua, she gives up her job as a florist and takes a job as a groom at the Yellow Rose of Texas Equine Rescue Center even though she’s never been near a horse!

Dr. Declan Armstrong, the dashing vet at the center introduces her to the beauty of morning sunrises, morning coffee with company, and helps her settle in her new life.

As love blossoms and as an unbroken straw becomes a symbol of a promise between the two, Chistabel has to decide whether her handsome vet will accept her special gift as well as her love. When you read this book you’ll realize that Christabel’s gift is just a perfect match to Declan.

What wins this book a place in my heart is the fact that it’s a story of new beginnings and discovering the beauty of life by stepping out of your rut, bonding with nature, and discovering the power of sharing a relationship with animals. LOVE, LILIES AND THE UNBROKEN STRAW is so much more than a romance but the romance is too sweet to miss. So pick up your copy ASAP. The Hoofbeats & Heartstrings series will definitely tug at your heartstrings! Kudos to Teri Wilson.

Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw earns a You Need to Read rating from You Gotta Read Reviews!

"In one word: sweet! This chaste romance was a breath of fresh air, with characters more interested in getting to know each other than jumping into bed. Their romance is a shy and innocent affair based around daily encounters rather then carefully arranged dates.

Another thing I like about this story is that the characters have passions having nothing to do with each other. Christabel often takes time to talk about flowers and their meaning, and Declan is quick to teach her – and vicariously the readers – all he knows about horses...

...Overall, I’d recommend this story for those looking for something closer to a true romance. And, in fact, I already have."

Do You Hear What I Hear named Fallen Angels Review Recommended Read with a 5/5 Angels rating!

"I was so enchanted with this charming tale that I read it straight through in one sitting. I loved the special affinity for animals, and Simone’s conversations with some of the animals were cute and funny. But the way some of the other people in the story treated Simone almost broke my heart; it seemed so unfair. Human nature often fears and ridicules what they don’t understand so it was very believable. This story is my first taste of the work of Teri Wilson but it will not be my last. Ms. Wilson imparts a style and spirit into her work that I love, and I want to read all her works. If you love magic, romance, and animals, Do You Hear What I Hear? is a must read Christmas story. I highly recommend this enchanting, magical tale! And as a special bonus this book promises to be just the first of a series of books by Ms. Wilson called Hoofbeats and Heartstrings. I can’t wait for the next installment!"

"I was totally charmed by this book from the first page. Teri Wilson creates a wonderful slate of characters, human, canine and equine, that grab your heart and won’t let go. Do You Hear What I Hear? was well developed and the perfect reading choice for the holiday season when we all need a break from the hustle and bustle and long to curl up in a soft corner with a steaming cup of cocoa and a heartwarming read. I loved the unique career that Simone had developed for herself and enjoyed all the scenes about the horse rescue ranch. While part of a series, this book stands alone.

Animal Rescue organizations have a special place in my heart, so discovering that Do You Hear What I Hear? was benefiting horse rescue was particularly gratifying. As described on the author’s website: Hoofbeats & Heartstrings is a series of romance novels celebrating love, miracles and the beauty of horses. A portion of the proceeds from all the Hoofbeats & Heartstrings novels will go directly to help horses in need at Saddlebred Rescue. For more information about this wonderful organization, you can visit their website at http://www.saddlebredrescue.com/ Do yourself, and the rescue horses benefiting from the sales of this book, a favor and pick up your copy today.  "Ms. Wilson has penned a wonderful story. I loved how the author came up with the creative storyline of Simone being able to communicate with animals and I was truly heartbroken with how she was treated by most people because of her special gift. I fell in love with Simone not only because of her talent with animals, but also how she was the perfect compliment for Chet. I absolutely adored the choice of names chosen for all the animals, especially the horses. I enjoyed this story so much I just couldn’t put it down. Ms. Wilson wrote every detail with a purpose and in the end, she told a beautiful story of love between humans and animals. I highly recommend this story and eagerly look forward to reading more from this author."

Diana Coyle, Night Owl Romance Book Reviews

"a lovely G-rated romance!"

Simone Littleton was considered mainly a quack by all the trainers at the racetrack. Being an Equine Massage Therapist, she used her skills along with a combination of massage oils and herbs to calm down even the most stressed- out horse. Her personal life was complicated and men usually didn't like her kind of complicated. While she did work for racer Trent Jones, everyone else laughed at her constantly.

Chet Wallace owned racehorses and was not looking for anything but a winning horse. No time for anything else but training and he is not about to put up with the "Crazy Horse Lady" tending to his prized horses. His dog, Pollock, has other ideas.

You see, Simone's little secret is that she can talk to animals. It has made her the laughing-stock of the track and has not been helpful in getting new clients. When Chet yells at her in front of everyone for not telling him her secret, it breaks her heart. The path to Simone's heart is through her work with horses and the path to Chet's is the same. Will they forgive and forget? You can never trust a scheming Jack Russell Terrier.

This book is part 1 of a series titled Hoofbeats and Heartstrings. Let's hope it is a long-lived series because this book is G rated, and a lovely story!

I just finished reading Teri Wilson's latest novel, Do You Hear What I Hear, Book One of her new Hoofbeats and Heartstrings Series, and I really hated for it to end. It felt as though the story was just beginning and I am excited to know it has! Any book that would combine horses with aromatherapy would naturally attract my attention. But then Teri added another element I wasn't so certain about - communicating with animals. As a Christian I was hesitant about this topic, and yet Teri not only pulled this off beautifully but how she shares this opens the readers eyes to so many possibilities and miracles. With the flick of her pen...or her keyboard, Teri Wilson shares one of the most important events in history and the impossibility of it from a human perspective all the while opening the readers eyes to other miracles abounding in the world today. Using horses, aromatherapy and a love story Teri weaves a tale that is more than a novel, more than a love story, it is THE love story in human history revealed. Read this book, you won't regret it! ~Dr. Kim Bloomer, veterinary naturopath, author, and host of Animal Talk Naturally
