Happy Easter Blog Hoppers!

Okay, you may be wondering how a photo of me and my dog relates to Easter (except those of you who visit my site regularly and know I will include a picture of my dog for any and every occassion, LOL). Well, that picture was taken Monday night at our special Easter-themed rally obedience training class. Our teacher arranged a fun obedience game and gave away prizes. Fabulous prizes...

Can you guess what I'm talking about? The one must-have Easter treat...(and you know I'm not referring to Peeps)...

Yes, that's right! The ever-popular chocolate bunny. My dog performed fabulously and I got to bring home a big chocolate bunny wrapped in shiny gold foil. Yummmm.

It had been years since I'd had a chocolate bunny. I remember the good old days, when my son was little. I would pick out the chocolate bunny for his Easter basket weeks ahead of time. And then, undoubtedly, I would devour it in a midnight chocolate feeding frenzy just days before Easter. It's shameful, I know.

Back to the store I would go for a replacement bunny. One year all they had left was white chocolate. I'm a terrible mom.

But this year, I brought home my shiny gold bunny and shared it with my son (who is now almost 18 years old). I even let him eat the ears - which we all know is the best part. So, maybe I'm not such a bad mother after all.

There aren't any chocolate bunnies in my new Easter romance, Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw. But there's a snow-white Chihuahua, a slew of lovely rescue horses and a dreamy veterinarian hero. Take a little peek at the blurb:

Christabel Wilde’s life has just turned upside-down. With little more than the clothes on her back and her newly rescued Chihuahua tucked under her arm, she makes a pledge to start over and applies for a job as a groom at a horse rescue farm. Nevermind that she’s never been up close to a horse before, she has a bigger secret to hide. A mysterious gift her new neighbor, Dr. Declan Armstrong, is determined to uncover. When the irresistible veterinarian volunteers to give her riding lessons, Christabel knows it could be the end of her secret. With the Easter holiday approaching, she tries to remember that sometimes what looks like the end is really a new beginning.

In the spirit of Easter, I'm giving away something even better than a chocolate bunny - an autographed, ** print ** copy of Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw. All you need to do for your chance to win is leave a comment on this blog entry. I will draw a name on Easter Sunday. Be sure to check back in the comment section to see if you won. Good luck!

And for those of you participating in the blog hop tour...

Hi,

I live over the pond. I'm a big animal lover, but unfortunately my husband isn't. Altough we have a couple of birds, what I'd really like is a couple of nice big dogs and a few cats...hehe!!!

Ah, that choccy bunny looks delicious! I always remembered Cadbury's chocolate cream eggs...oh yum!! A while and yellow sweet cream covered by my favourite chocolate.

Your book looks really interesting!! And a hunky vet sounds intriguing!!!

All the best for Easter!!

Great story, Teri. I remember those chocolate bunnies when I was a kid, but it was the Hershey Kisses that did me in. I ate the entire bag. Yep, in one sitting. Thought I'd never want to see another Kiss in my life, but I still love them today!

Your dog is as cute as can be! I love animals and I have a cat. He can take or leave Easter and chocolate!

A chocolate bunny or a book? Wow, that's a tough choice. I'm a chocoholic and a bookaholic. I don't know which I'd choose. I'm greedy. Can I have both? Your book sounds good.

What a wonderful Easter give-away! Since I'm a new reader and author to The Wild Rose Press (my first story is listed in their coming soon section), I'm still learning my way around their garden. Teri, I was really intrigued by the cover of Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw (since I love horses and have had some riding lessons), but the excerpt captured my heart. I love your writing style. I look forward to reading more from you. smile I gave up chocolate for lent so that chocolate bunny sure was tempting. Chocolate covered soft marshmallow eggs are my downfall. Yum!

You are NOT a terrible mom - we're all guilty of eating our children's chocolate bunny - LOL!

Great post and interesting contest.

I'd LOVE to have a copy of your book!

Good luck, God's BLESSINGS, and Happy Easter!

I love Easter Bunny's. This year I went with a small bunny for my oldest and a duck for the youngest. The oldest doesn't eat chocolate (the horrors) so guess who has to make the sacrifice and eat that bunny. smile

Happy Easter

Having four kids, I would buy the holiday candy a month ahead of time to get the best selection. It would be hidden in my closet but unfortunately I knew it was there and usually about two days before Easter (or Halloween) I would have to run out and restock. So I'm heading out to buy Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs today! Have a wonderful Easter!

Teri, what a great blog entry. Here I am thinking I'm the only one who ate the chocolate before Easter. I always bought for our daughter as soon as it came to the shelves because she didn't like chocolate unless it was "white" chocolate. I would hide it from myself and then couldn't find it! Now I can smell it out and this year I'll fix my first granddaughter's basket. Can't wait. I bought her a stuffed bunny for her Easter basket, but I can't find where I put it! Guess she'll get it around July...oh well, why change now? My passion is reading and I would love, love, love to have your book, especially autographed. Have a fabulous Easter.

Hi Teri--
Jumping in here as an animal lover--2 cats and a dog-- and a reader of romance smile to say Happy Easter, and you have a beautiful site! I'm a little past finding Easter eggs, but not so old I'd pass up a good hunk of chocolate--a hunky vet--or your book! Congratulations! Pat

Love books with dogs in them; the Vet part should be good reading also.
This might be the first Easter I never bought any bunnies but I have Robin's eggs, mint chocolates, jelly beans.

Now if I can only find a way to erase everyone elses comments, I'll win your book!! (grin)
You can't blame me for trying.
And if you have ever gone to my website you will know we are kindred spirits.
I love dogs and horses and chocolate, Ha, we could talk all day. In any case good luck with the book and to the winner. Who doesn't love the ears of the chocolate Easter bunny? You're a great mom for sharing.
